She's a really good interview. Shows lots of basketball smarts.
Surprised the media haven't embraced her more. Too distracted by Ting?

I like Ting as the back-up SF. One of Osahor & Fagbenle won't be needed. Assuming they can keep 12; I see them ending up as:

PG: Whalen/Montgomery
SG: Augustus/Perkins/Jones
SF: Moore/Ting
PF: Brunson/Pierson/Howard
C: Fowles/Osahor

Nope. Not unless they get shot of one of the vets.

Now I'm going to be the height police. If Ting is 6 foot 1 then Osahor is < 6 foot 1.

One of the Lynx fans I follow is going to riot if Osahor MAKES the Lynx roster, so no matter what happens, I'll be spending the night in jail. Smile

You're measuring the wrong direction! Razz

Quote:
One way the Lynx are attempting to stay ahead of the field is their implementation of the Noah Basketball system. At Mayo Clinic Square, the team’s practice facility, the baskets have sensors that measure shot trajectory. For each shot, a computer voice communicates the angle of entry, giving players immediate feedback as they develop their shooting motion. Reeve is already seeing progress with at least one of her veterans.

“I’m watching Rebekkah Brunson shoot and I’m seeing a completely different shot,” she said. “We upped the ante with that and we put greater emphasis on it this off-season.”

Holy crap, that's high tech.

Also in this article they talk about Osahor comparing to McCarville and also having a three point shot. No mention of Fagbenle. Leaning towards Osahor?

Having both players interviewed at media day, it would seem they are undecided and want to let game play factor in the decision. I think that might favor Osahor because she's more of a gamer type over a practice player.

I'm sick of the word "redemption", as the Lynx shouldn't have been as stupid as they were to begin with in how they gave the title away to the Sparks in Game 5.

Practice Report | Everyone Back For Lynx

http://lynx.wnba.com/news/practice-report-everyone-back-lynx/
(audio files at the link)

Quote:
“It’s great, especially for Natasha as a young player. We have big plans for her, so it’s nice to get her back and get her back into the flow of how we do things,” Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve said after practice. “I think it’s good to have her back to get her in a rhythm.”

Howard, who was playing in Italy during the offseason, decided to leave her team overseas early to come back and join the Lynx in training camp.

“She played for a team in South Korea and then she was playing for a team in Italy and you might tend to forget what the Lynx are doing,” Reeve said. “She wanted to get back to camp, so we appreciate that a lot.”

Quote:
“The least of our worries is who we are playing. It’s really kind of are we going to have everything in that we need to play a game. Kind of going through our checklist,” Reeve said. “I think they are going to be excited to play, there’s no doubt about that. We are almost two weeks into camp and that’s a long stretch. I suspect that when we get over there Friday, it’s a group that’s going to be geeked up to have their uniforms on and to get to play against somebody else.”

Maybe we'll see some big crowds at the X this summer!

“We’re actually going to be one of the few teams in the league that has experienced being displaced from your home, having a second facility, and actually growing our business,” Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. “A lot of teams lose their business and have a hard time getting their fans back when they return. We’re going to grow.”

Footage from bonding session at the owner's house, including a triangle dance from the rookies. Ting looked to be the best dancer.

Lynx waive forwards Chantel Osahor and Breanna Richardson and guard Moriah Mack. Training camp roster stands at 12.

What, they didn't want a center who can't move her feet, can't practice, has bad knees and is in astoundingly bad basketball shape? Well gee.

So Reeve showcases the nothingness that was Richardson, but doesn't give Osahor a fair shot. Still waiting for an explanation.

And why does Ting, why does Ting still linger? Looking for a quick trade or restructuring? Do they have enough cap to play her a partial season?
