If Sykes is behind Ajavon on the depth chart I'm going to be even more pissed off that we passed on Brionna Jones.

Dantas is a big upgrade over Gatling though. Dantas can back up both post spots imo.

Dantas was a starter for us in 2015. I could see Lyttle coming off the bench given her age and injury history. There is also the question of whether she will miss games this summer, but maybe Ndour is taking her place.

I too will be greatly disappointed if Sykes is playing behind Ajavon. Matee played very little last season, so I think she will be fighting with Simmons for the last spot. As I recall Holmes didn't look very good initially, but Cooper stuck with her. I'd expect him to do the same with Sykes. .

Who would you rather have on the team, Ajavon or the Microwave?

I'd probably rather have Simmons, but I will admit Ajavon is a probably better player on defense, penetrating and passing. Simmons is younger so she might get better, and is able to play coming off the bench. Ajavon seems to need to be a starter, or at least get a lot of minutes to be effective. Neither is a very good shooter. I'm not going to get mad if either or both stay or go. I hope the Dream will be watching the waiver wire closely.

And she can play the point. You don't really know yet what's going on with Kiesel yet other than she mysteriously got a multi-year deal.

I remember what I think was Kiesel's career night. Sims and Diggins were both out and Kiesel was starting. Despite Tulsa being so short-handed they won and we simply couldn't stop her in the 4th. I figure that's why she got signed.

She's still on the rookie deal, so I'm not sure multi-year means any $ is guaranteed.

Simmons irks me worse than Ajavon does. All she does is shoot and she's not very good at it.

I think that may be what Cooper is telling her to do. (Not saying its a good idea though.) If she wasn't supposed to be shooting, can't see why he would ever put her in a game.

She got cut and never picked up, so I believe she's off the rookie deal and fell under UFA standards.

Is Cooper really that impulsive to give a multi-year deal based on one game? You guys might be in trouble if you haven't already figured it out. Wink

I laughed when I saw that the reason Cooper gave for drafting Sykes was "she reminds me of me." How's that, she makes poor decisions? Razz

I feel like Ajavon is probably a better player than it looks like she is. I can't get past her handle: she must have the sloppiest dribble in the league. Every time she doesn't turn the ball over, it looks like an accident, and I can't separate that from my opinion of her as a player. At least with Simmons, she looks, moves and shoots like a basketball player, who just isn't any good. Whenever I see Ajavon on the court, I think she looks they taught an alligator to play basketball.

I recognize Gatling too. Not quite sure who the rest of them are, probably some our training camp invites. Dream sent out an email promotion this weekend to sell Hawks tickets. (Pretty nice of them considering the Hawks ran them out of Phillips Arena.)
