Osahor is draining 3's on the Lynx's instagram story.

Osahor defense definitely make me nervous. The games in the league require a whole lot more conditioning and I didn't see it in the college game from her.

Seems like a problem to me too though it is hard for the other team to score on a player glued to the Lynx bench, as is the pattern for Lynx rookies..

Relying on Fowles/Brunson/Pierson to stay healthy for an entire season seems like folly, though. You want that fifth post to be vaguely playable when called upon, even if Reeve will only use her when absolutely necessary.

Obviously, I'm rooting for that fifth post to be Fagbenle...

According to .com's Transactions page, Lisa Berkani (this year's #24 overall pick from France) has signed her contract with the Lynx. Wasn't expecting that to happen (and kinda doubt the Lynx were, either).

Here's Alexis Jones getting her butt kicked by the eventual 3-Point Champion

So now the Lynx will be forced to cut her instead of holding her rights for a rainy day? Just awesome. Long shot anyway.

She outsmarted them. Get free ticket to fly to MN and become a UFA.

Plus she ups her European stock by padding her resume with being a WNBA Championship draft pick and camp invite. So does Ting. Is there a pattern here. Are the Lynx just handing out international favors? I blame half of this on that new assistant coach and half on the GM who was supposed to convince this player that she doesn't really want to come in this year, and maybe not even next year. They could have brought in Chong to compete with Jones, and it might be a closer competition than you think. What's wrong Reeve, you make a half mil a year and couldn't be bothered to watch some UConn games to notice of well they did with Chong running the point?

I can't be too mad at Reeve. They did bring in Osahor. Now can we get a progress report on her and Jones? I'm not looking to call Osahor the new Secret Weapon.

Well the Lynx finally threw us a little crumb about Jones. Still nothing about Osahor.

http://lynx.wnba.com/news/training-camp-rundown-day-5/?sf74254139=1

Quote:
In her first week in the WNBA and in training camp, Alexis Jones has made early impressions on the coaching staff.

Jones, a 5-foot-9 guard out of Baylor, was selected by the Lynx with the No. 12 pick in the WNBA Draft about two weeks ago.

“We knew Alexis Jones was good. We were surprised she was there (at No. 12 in the draft). She’s been very good, she’s a very good basketball player,” Reeve said of the rookie guard. “We have ourselves a good player there.

The Unique Journey Of Temi Fagbenle
Quote:

“I think I started a little bit rusty, but I’m picking things up quickly as I tend to do and have always done. I’m getting there,” she said. “I know my capabilities, and for me not to be showing that on the court right now and what I can do, it’s a little bit frustrating. But I can’t stop fighting and I have to keep working at it.”

It's a lengthy article that finishes with the tone that she's struggling.

Or they want to keep us in suspense, like in 2014.

For veteran Lynx point guard Lindsay Whalen, less is more

http://www.twincities.com/2017/04/27/for-veteran-lynx-point-guard-lindsay-whalen-less-is-more/

Quote:
Whalen bucked the trend of top WNBA players a year ago by sacrificing the international money that many players use to supplement their more modest earnings stateside.

After playing a career-low 29 games for the Lynx in 2015, she opted against playing overseas with hopes that avoiding a year-round schedule would lead to more WNBA success.

Quote:
“I think it’s time for decision-makers to step up with dollars,” Reeve said. “It’s not the league. The people sitting in the league office would love to pay every player $1 million. There’s nobody in the league that doesn’t want that. We don’t have that because the people that are sitting behind the desks making decisions on sponsorship dollars (and) TV, those are the ones that need to step up. When they step up and the league revenue allows us to do that, every person in the league office will pay us $1 million. That’s obviously a very layered issue.”

Quote:
Before Thursday’s Lynx practice, their fifth of this training camp leading to a May 14 season opener at Xcel Energy Center, Reeve told Whalen, who turns 35 next week, that the winter breaks are helping her game.

“Just think in five years how good she’ll be,” Reeve said, “if she keeps taking offseasons off.”

Who have they interviewed so far?

If they interview Fagbenle over Osahor or vice-versa, that could be telling.

If they interview neither.... keeping us in suspense.
