There are USA U18 and unlimited age competitions taking place this weekend. Ordinarily I would just ignore it, but an interesting development this year is that USA Basketball invited the Pac 12 teams to send teams to increase the number of adult teams and a bunch will be participating. Heck, even Wazzu managed to find four Americans on their roster to send.

Pac-12 sends 6 teams to USA Basketball 3-on-3 tournament

..."There is no question that 3-on-3 is becoming more of a prominent thing on the international stage," Cal coach Lindsay Gottlieb said. "It will be an Olympic sport. USA Basketball has done a tremendous effort to grow the game and grow interest in 3-on-3."

...The ultimate goal is to have 3-on-3 added to the 2020 Olympic Games. The IOC vote for that to happen is set for July.,,

wonder what happened to Ionescu? She was planning to be part of the Duck contingent. Hopefully nothing serious.

USC and Colorado were 2-1 in their group with Wazzu at 1-2. In the other group, Washington, Oregon, and Cal were all 3-1 with some Iowa State players on the only winless team.

In the U18 Division, the heavy favorites (Bailey, DeCosta, Littleton, and Williams) beat the locals (Belibi, Van Gytenbeck ('20), Van Sickle ('21), and Watts ('19).

I don't think the US Women are competing in the 2017 3x3 World Championships, but I could be wrong.

But the US is competing in the U18 3x3 WC.

Why are no US women competing in the open class?
