No....Jones had a terrible last 6 minutes.But I don't see Peterson,Wiese or Epps getting selected ahead of Jones.Like really....Wiese ahead of Jones ?

Yea, and Jones is a 2 guard playing mostly out of position at the point (which she had to do a fair bit last night). She doesn't have the right instincts to play the point, but she'll be fine at the 2.

how do you guys feel about her guarding other 2's in the W ? She obviously struggled drastically on defense last night and idk if it was her knee or just her not being disciplined but i think a transitional period will hit jones once she starts her rookie campaign.

Jones is closer to a SG at the college level than Niya Johnson was, but that doesn't make her not a PG, especially at the next level. She needs to be PG at the next level. In the WNBA, ideally your PG has full capabilities to score and facilitate, and Jones has shown that. If you try to tag her as not a PG, then she'll be saddled with the shorty three point specialist off the bench, and she won't have much of career at that if she isn't proficient at hitting them cold off the bench. So yeah, Alexis Jones is a PG. Skylar Digging is a PG. She's another one I hear all the time that it's not her natural position... blah, blah, blah.

But then people talk about Kelsey Plum like she's been a PG all her life and it's her natural position, when she's shown little sign of being a PG until her senior year.

+1 . A. Jones will be best in the W playing the 1 . Playing the 2 will result in less minutes played .

I don't know why people talk about Jones as a point guard. She's never been worth a damn trying to play point guard. She wasn't at Duke, she hasn't been at Baylor. She doesn't have the vision, doesn't have the instincts, doesn't have the judgment, isn't that great a passer. She's not even a good "combo" guard. Either she makes it as a 2 or she doesn't make it.

as it is now, all these games have been exciting except for the UConn games....

ND's blowout of tOSU was exciting? 99-76

Baylor's blowout of Lou? 97-63

SCAr's destruction of Quinn? 100-58

UConn won by 15.

Why exaggerate?

Is it UConn'fs fault that a Baylor team LOADED with depth and talent to beat them allowed a 5 foot midget to go off for 40+ and knock them out before they got the chance to face them in their backyard?

Is Kim Mulkey destroying wimins basketball>? ESPN was about to Don King the sh*t out of the showdown in Dallas, WILL UCONN'S STREAK END THIS FRIDAY? ANd the Mulk sulked and blew it!

The Man remarked last night that Kim Mulkey reminded him of Kellyanne Conway and now I can't unsee it.

And what was that bit of theater, or temper tantrum, when she stomped over to the assistant with the book and was jabbing her finger at the book and screaming at him? Egad.

I just don't understand how Baylor lost that game. I do understand this, Christi was terrible and Kim kept putting her in. William had a fantastic game because noone was guarding her. EVERY shot she took was an unguarded shot. I was sitting here watching and I saw William all over the person she was guarding. Baylor just let her walk the ball up the floor without ANYONE getting in her face. Why did Kim not get on her players for their piss poor guarding. I like Baylor but I feel they deserved to lose that game. No way they should have lost with the players and the record they have. To lose in the Elite 8 4 times in a row is awful!!

Certainly looked that way.

Kim's draft status is dropping like a rock.

I agree and have been saying it since Gray got injured at Duke. That offense was far less stable with Jones running it and I suspect Baylor's overall dominance is masking that she hasn't been as good of a point guard with them either. You give me Plum and Jones to run my team, I take Plum without hesitating.

Tell me Art, who do you think would be a better fit next to Skylar in Dallas...Jones or Peterson?

Probably Peterson, but actually neither one. Peterson looks to me in that spot as Sims v.2.0. I think Walker-Kimbrough, Allen or Jankoska would be better fits than Jones or Peterson. Frankly I'd prefer this three to Jones at any draft spot. And they could get the latter two of them probably with their 10th pick and take Coates and Akator with the first two and be a much better team next year.
