They changed their caption on the Instagram post to:

I'm so glad they hyped up this at least 4 days in advance! Must be a huge hire! Laughing

There are only a few things that will make this remotely interesting:

Swoopes is making a coaching comeback.
Former W assistants, Jim Petersen or Tree Rollins
Former head coaches, Carol Ross or Marynell Meadows
Former player, Penny Taylor
Resting Player, Angel McCoughtry

I think we will benefit the most in this draft if the eligible early declares all go as planned. 2 Possible Future All stars with diggins johnson and powers could be a scary team in 2 - 3 years. We cant do worse than...

Plum & Coates
Diamond & Coates
Mitchell & Coates
Vice verse Swapping Coates For B. Jones. This is going to be an exciting team to watch at UTA!

I think #1 & #2 will be Mitchell & Plum. Dallas will likely land Coates & DeSheilds. If Mitchell doesn't declare, they'll land Coates & either SWK or Coffey.

But What does Chi need with plum? Her and slooty are virtually the same giving slooty the advantage due to experience. Maybe Sign & Trade or Take Deshields at 2 if mitchell declares seems more fitting for the sky.

In the lottery, you shouldn't be concerned about fit unless the player that fits your team the best is deemed to be a very good player. There are no game changers in this draft. You take the best available and figure the rest out later, IMO.

But I'd still prefer DeShields at this point..

Yeah i do agree with best talent over needs but in this draft i dont see any player drastically upgrading a team instantly so why not stick with needs vs talent?

Because Cappie isn't going to play forever and we don't know how long CHI will be able to keep both PGs.

Plum can workout to be Cappie's replacement. How much longer does she have anyways? And Quigley had one of her worst seasons last year. They need scoring with EDD gone.

Disagree with this part....Quigley-9.5p/47%/37%/82% in only 17.8 mpg-Nearly double digit scoring in less than 20 minutes.Quigley would be a great pickup for any team looking to add bench depth.

It's kind of a big deal.

Taj is baaaaaaaaack!

She picked the right team to eventually take over since Williams is on borrowed time.

What makes you think she would be any better than Fred? Since 2012 she hasn't spent more than a year in 1 coaching position, which is a big red flag to me.

What are you talking about?
Taj's Post University was
7-22 the season before she got there
4-24 in her first season
3-24 this season

Probably realized Post was too much of a rebuild or realized she was more of a pro coach. Smile

Or maybe it's just that "popular veteran" does not automatically equal "good coach."

It depends. The same was basically true of Steph White, who then was a successful short-term coach in Indiana. It is yet to be seen if she will be successful as a college head (Vandy seems like a major rebuild) but the potential flakiness red flag was not a problem as a head coach in the W.
