Most interesting of the afternoon matchups today. Just a complete contrast in styles. Who will dictate pace? If DePaul can hit 3's then MSU is going to feel the pressure to keep up offensively with a potent team.

Tied at 17 with 30 seconds left in the 1st. Good sign for DePaul, I thought there was a chance MSU's length/athleticism on defense would make it hard for them to score, not a problem yet.

Is Vivians voted "most likely to transfer"?
This is the second round of the NCAA tournament and her expression and body language seems to say "I don't give a shit and I just don't even want to be here."
That was just a brain dead play to end the quarter.

Or maybe it has something to do with being 1 for 9.

Well, January, if you bothered to follow your shot you would have gotten an easy rebound.

I know that's their game, but if DePaul just keeps coming down and bricking quick threes, they're going to get blown out here in a little bit.

Vivians can probably put up numbers against weak teams, as she has some decent moves. However, when under defensive pressure, she really doesn't have good shooting touch, reflexes or quickness. |

Funny that some of you talk about Miss St like they are dog meat but they beat DePaul 92-71. Something wrong there?

How many teams can invert their line up and average over 100 points a game? Granted it's a small sample size (2 games and vs lower seeds, but still).

Everyone remembers what they did against UConn last year

Last year is irrelevant this year.

I guess. Most of the players are the same. Plus the memory is hard to shake.

Mississippi St is so good this year that Vivians is coming off the bench

DePaul is streaky as all hell and heavily system dependent. You stop their ball movement, they're done. Hanging 92 on them is fairly impressive, I'll admit, but DePaul ran headlong into a team that could neutralize their strengths. (And even then, they scored 71 on a team that's nominally a defensive powerhouse.)
