Seemed like a lot of acting there based on where Holmes took the contact

I thought that call was right, but a whole bunch before that were not and they all favored Texas.

Holmes is much bigger and I don't think the contact made her fall, i think she just fell to draw the charge. Thing is a charge should be a charge regardless of whether one falls. I just doubt the refs would have called it that way if she didn't fall.

come on art, how easy does ND have to it this year?

it was a charge. pretty obvious.

and yes, to sell it further, Holmes did an ND flop.

The good thing is that my bracket is intact.

Well if Texas beats Stanford, I'm just glad ND won't have to play them in Austin.

What a screw job.

If you can't get a rebound on a missed FT, you don't deserve to win.

Actually it wasn't. I've gone back and looked at it. She actually pulled up. It was a flop.

Lobo and Landers are both slamming that game-changing call on Holme's flop.

After the flagrant call that wasn't and the review that shouldn't have been reviewed, NCSt has no complaint.

When they foul out all your bigs you have to box out and when you box out you should be rewarded when a player goes over your back, thats called fundamental basketball.

If the review doesn't happen NCST would have gotten hosed on an obvious call in front of their own bench.

Yeah, once again ESPN sides with teams in conferences they have a deal with. Landers is right, the contact was undeniable. Whether or not Holmes fell is irrelevant. It's a foul. Case closed.

Sorry but when you make contact with the face it is a flagrant whether you like it or not, especially the way she went after the player. I have no dog in this fight but these refs were the most biased I have seen all tournament.

A player can't jump into another player. Pretty simple.

There were so many bad calls in this game. I thought the offensive foul called on Williams was an incredible flop. McCarty threw herself out of bounds and Williams clearly didn't cause it. Then later McCarty hooks Spencer and fakes another time and gets Mia out of the game with her 5th foul. Just sad.

And despite the efforts by the officials to help Texas, NCSt has it back up to 8.

NCSt better assume every remotely close call is going to go against them the rest of the way.

The ref's gave Texas that game in many ways. I doubt Texas will make it through the next round. Shameful calls made against NC State who played much better than Texas. What team can make as many turnovers as Raxas did and still win the game.

I personally hate the charge rule. But it is in the rulebook and it became a tactic and players take advantage. Every player who, in the tempo of the game, is able to think about setting her feet outside of the circle knows she is going to fall. No matter how hard the hit will be or how big the player is. This is how this stupid rule has changed the game. I hate when a tiny point guard can just set herself under the basket without even attempting to block the shot. So why a big girl shouldnt be able to take advantage of this rule as well. It was a smart play from Holmes and the refs had to call this one. To fix these situations, just take the rule away and let the game be physical down under.

I agree some of the calls at the end were veeery questinabla, especially that last foul on Spencer.

(edit: i keep skipping words:/ )
