Pac-12 Feature: Washington's Collier grateful for storybook ending

Quote:
Collier’s story is well known in Seattle, the diagnosis of leukemia that happened immediately after she fell ill during her recruiting visit to Washington where she would be one of the first recruits for the new coaching staff of then-coach Kevin McGuff and then-assistant coach Mike Neighbors.

She was at a football tailgate breakfast for new recruits when she fell ill. By 3:45 the next morning, she was texting Neighbors to tell him she had cancer.

...

Collier has been a critical piece of the puzzle for the Huskies. She is a tone-setter on defense and an important contributor offensively, a worthy complement to Kelsey Plum and Chantel Osahor’s most prominent contributions.

Plum and Osahor are the headliner grabbers, but UW fans know how fortunate we are to be able to watch Collier play. Corral too. Collier and Corral, McGuff and Neighbors' first recruits for UW, have both been through so much. It's amazing that they are still on the court, let alone contributing at the level that they are.

Hopefully the team is well-rested, but not rusty, and ready to go tomorrow. It's a tough pod and anything can happen.

why would they have Osahor guarding Faris, MoSU's best 3 shooter? Makes no sense.

Either Washington is seeded too high, or Montana State is too low.....I'm inclined to think the latter. If MT State played somewhere else they'd be killer. Or at least damn competitive.

I think they seriously move around the lower seeds to make it 'work' geographically.

Osahor not even leaving the defensive end key area on those two run outs by Washington. Laughing
