NMSU up 1 after 3. If they can pull this off it would be pretty stunning. Mack with 4 fouls, not sure if they can afford to sit her for long though.

Huge 3 by Salas to begin the 4th. 4 point NMSU lead.

Myrtle? Cardi-Boi? Are you there?

<Sending the smelling salts your way>

An upset here, while *interesting*, would put all 5 of my brackets on life support. Shocked Razz

Smith counters with a 3 for Stanford, back to a 1 point NMSU lead with 8:50 left in the game.

Mack back in for New Mexico State. She has 4 fouls. But they need her.

Stanford gets a bucket plus foul. 3 point lead is the largest of the game.

Makes the FT to make it a 4 point game. NMSU on the ropes

LOL, just when I say that NMSU responds with a bucket plus the foul of their own.

Another and 1 for Stanford. As Stanford keeps going down low, I think they'll end up winning.

Was hoping to see an upset!

South Dakota St had Stanford beaten at Maples last year, but Stanford survived and beat Notre Dame in the Sweet 16, so I fully expect Stanford to at least make it to the Elite Eight again this year now. Shocked

clusterfuck to end the half.

What happened? I Saw NMSU got an offensive rebound and hit a 3 to end the half? Was following live stats, the online stream is too far behind real time so not watching it right now.

Stanford Freshman fouled a NMSU player with 2 sec on the clock...who made the first FT and missed the second one, offensive board and somehow they made a three in that 2 seconds...so a 4 point play to put them up by 7 at the half.

In general though, other than Karlie and Alaina...and a bit from McPhee, Stanford played like they were half asleep. I've been worrying about Tara's choice of lineups all year. Alaina definitely gives a lift off the bench. It's always hard to know which PG will/won't perform. And their offense is definitely like a HS offense, which makes it difficult to score against any team that can defend.

Landers was going on about them not getting the ball to McCall, but that is definitely not the way the offense works...and for good reason. McCall is not that great at finishing or with her midrange shot either. But she can rebound.
