The whole conference got into the postseason somewhere? Just *because* they're the Pac-12?

> UC Davis at Utah

An hour ago, I thought: "The basketball gods could screw me by pairing UC Davis and Utah. Nahhhh, I'm just imagining bad stuff. Won't happen."

Go Utes, I guess.

AND IT'S IN UTAH. GAHHHH.

In the upper right of the bracket, Central Michigan's Sue Guevara will face her former school in Michigan if those teams advance to round 2. Kim Barnes Arico will face her former school in St. John's if those teams advance to round 3.

I AM NOT OKAY WITH THIS

I AM VERY NOT OKAY WITH THIS

St. John's is my team, but Kim's staff is my crew. And it'll feel reaaaaaally awkward wearing Joy's jersey...

Colorado hosting UNLV Thursday makes for a very happy fan.

Potential quarterfinal matchup with Wyoming and semifinal games against CSU, Utah or Washington State. Go Buffs!

I am almost as intrigued and excited about the NIT this year as I am the NCAA Tournament. I think it has to do with so many mid-majors that I feel are of pretty high quality being in the NIT. I know it happens every year but for some reason I feel like this NIT field is really, really strong.

They're in. Hosting Rider.

Maybe, like me, you were expecting to see them matched up with JMU, but I guess it's only the NCAA committee that does that.

Yeah, I was a little surprised by that pairing but it appears as though they ran out of western teams.

The WNIT couldn't find another program that didn't have a losing record for the tournament? Is this going to be like a "participation award" for the Wazzu Cougars?

Wazzu automatically qualified for the WNIT due to the fact that all 6 of the schools that finished higher in conference were invited to the NCAA tourney. Their losing record would have disqualified them from receiving an at-large bid, but the WNIT doesn't care about a team's win-loss record if it is the autobid.

I'm not saying they definitely deserve to be there, but the fact that this WSU group was able to win 5 PAC-12 games and a tournament game after losing ALL THREE of their top scorers to injury throughout the season deserves some recognition. They won as many league games without any of their best players as Utah, Colorado, Arizona and USC did at full strength. That's pretty impressive; maybe June Daughtery's best coaching season ever.

They get 40 members for the WNIT. It's right there in the 2017 Postseason WNIT Handbook.

I'm sure JMU knows that, just as I'm sure they knew the rules for the CAA Tournament too.

There are always rules for bands and cheerleaders for tournaments.
