On ESPNU now.
Entertaining game. All tied up with 4:30 to go in the game.
Grambling vs Texas Southern ( Texas Southern has never been to the NCAAs).

Excuse me, that was only the third quarter. Not end of the game. Whole quarter to go yet. Grambling up by 2.

Both teams have a sympathetic story.
Texas Southern is playing for their first NCAA bid.
Grambling's former coach, Nadine Domond, walked out after just two years to become an assistant at Rutgers. Assistant Freddie Murray was named interim head coach and has them in the finals. He has bounced around as an assistant for 18 years, and this is his first HC opportunity, but he still has the "interim" tag, so he may be coaching for his job.

Texas Southern up 2 and with the ball after a timeout, 13.9 seconds left.
Bad shot by Grambling to tie, jump ball on rebound with possession to Texas Southern.
Oh no. Great defense forces turnover, but Grambling's player misses the contested layup.

Really questionable call. They call a flagrant foul on Grambling. Basically takes away any chance from Grambling with six seconds to go.
I didn't think it merited a flagrant. Neither did the announcers. They didn't call it flagrant on the floor either. They looked at the replay and upgraded it.
Player reached to slap the ball, offensive player dodged, defender grabbed her shoulder. She was definitely going for the ball though.
Texas Southern up 4 with 4.1 seconds to go.
Texas Southern wins 70-66.

I thought it was a merited flagrant- contact above the shoulder that wasn't a legitimate attempt at the ball. But the angle I saw made it look like the defender got her hands on the ballhandler's ponytail.
