If the Lynx don't bring back McCarville, I'd say her W career is done. Hasn't she made it clear she only wants to play in Minnesota? If she did want to play, who else would pursue her? Washington? Atlanta?

Lmao. Are people now whining about where players are signing as free agents? That is beyond pathetic.

She's playing for a coach she's very familiar with and on a team that the work load should be easier on her body..... but yeah, just a ring chaser. the things people complain about...

No they wouldn't. They'd sign with Minnesota. It's extremely rare to win back to back championships. Plus, the Lynx win every 2nd year. This is going to be their year easily, if they stay healthy. And chasing a championship with the Mystics is a complete joke. Lol. Adding EDD isn't going to propel them into being a contender. A contender for the playoffs yes, but not for a championship. Not even if they do in fact steal away Kristi Toliver. |
The Lynx always choke in the playoffs—they only win they are they so much better than every team in the WNBA that it's impossible for them to lose. The Sparks finally caught up to being as good as the Lynx, so, as I predicted last year but sadly didn't bet on, the Lynx choked against them in the Finals despite having home court advantage. I'd be shocked anybody other than the Sparks win the title, except for the Mystics, the rest of this decade.

Funny because Faulkner almost immediately went right to CCC Polkowice after she left Turkey. She must have family in Poland

Roster Review | Plenette Pierson

Offseason Plans
Pierson is spending her offseason playing overseas for the KB Stars in South Korea.
In 28 games this offseason, she has averaged 14.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks in 27.8 minutes per game. Pierson is shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 68.4 percent from the free-throw line. |
Quote: |
Role For 2017
More a majority of her career, especially in the last five or six seasons in the WNBA, Pierson has played key minutes for each of her teams.
Expect Pierson to continue to play a key role for the Lynx as they hope to once again make a deep run in 2017. |

Pierson is a perfect signing for the Lynx. She fits the physical style they play and she won't have to play heavy minutes, which is probably where she should be at this stage of her career. Her basketball IQ is very high as well. Be prepared for her to struggle as a defender in space. But with Fowles' presence that's less of a concern than it would be on other teams. And she will still defend close to the basket with physicality and be a factor on help defense as long as she doesn't have to cover too great a distance to do it. And she has a winner's mentality. Offensively she can still score inside or out, which is definitely a solid bench weapon.

Ok, my bad. They wished her luck in Minnesota and she didn't argue so I just assumed.
Clarification from Rachel:

I never actually said I'm heading back to Minny! In talks at the moment |
Apologies, Lynx fans.
It seems she is actually headed east this year.

If Jarry is a SF, plays hard, and can shoot a 3 this seems like the kind of something for nothing move Laimbeer (and/or Liberty managemnet) would make in a heart beat.

Yeah, you can have one of the bundle of players who made me think during the Olympics, "How the hell did Rebecca Allen not make this Australian squad?"
(in fairness, Jarry would hardly have been the first cut to make room for Allen, but still...) |

Jarry only played one season 4 years ago. I'm thinking they've probably moved on from her, but I'm not sure of the status of her rights. I think Liston may have gotten more minutes than Jarry, and they have moved on from Liston, so bringing back Jarry seems unlikely to me.
With Pierson, the Lynx will have 11, depending on what's going on with Cruz. She could be another half season player if they keep her.
11 + deferred Fagbenle (not signed yet) + 3 draft picks = 15
