What other moves do the Fever make? I assume they draft a SF or PF with #8 but who, McCall, Davis, Coffey? They could probably draft Akhator in the second round and develop her, she needs to hit the weight room and develop a midrange game. Does Pohlen make it another season?
As of right now:
PG: January/Wheeler
SG: Johnson/Mitchell/Lucas
SF: Coleman/Pohlen
PF: Peters/Larkins
C: Kizer/Achonwa

basically. But Larkins starts over Peters. Kizer will likely be starting at PF. No need for Pohlen & Lucas, too similar players. I say they bring in a more natural SF to challenge one of them for a spot.

Dupree for Kizer trade. Looks like they'll see a lot of three guard line ups.
PG: January/Wheeler
SG: Johnson/Mitchell/Lucas
SF: Coleman/???
PF: Dupree/Peters
C: Larkin's/Achonwa

As Pokey liked to employ her last couple of seasons in Chicago.

They should bring in a couple small forwards to camp to compete for back up. I'd call Whitney Knight or someone similar. They could also go for Nina Davis in the 2nd round. I would imagine her stock has fell They also need a 5th post. Ruth Hamblin may be looking for a job soon. I personally think its time to go into rebuild mode, but I would understand if they would want to see what they can do without Catch first.

Get To Know: Candice Dupree
http://fever.wnba.com/news/get-know-candice-dupree/
Quote:
Q: You previously played for Pokey Chatman in Russia. What was that experience like and are you looking forward to the reunion?
A: The two years I played for Pokey were a lot of fun. I think the players and coaches genuinely cared about each other and that made it so much easier to win games. I love not only her knowledge of the game but the passion she brings as well. I enjoy being able to feed off of her energy and intensity. I can’t wait to get back on the floor with her.

Quote:
Q: What are you most looking forward to this season?
A: I’m most looking forward to having fun playing the game of basketball again and meeting all of my new teammates. I’m also excited about working with and playing for such a great organization.

I hope a new coach and some new players is fun basketball too! Laughing

Indiana Fever guard and former Penn State standout Maggie Lucas doesn’t back down from any challenge, even if it comes from her own coach. That’s why Lucas, who has been with the Fever since 2014, stepped up and accepted the provocation of Indiana head coach Pokey Chatman on Friday.

Chatman challenged the former two-time Big Ten Player of the Year and USBWA All-American to knock down a half-court shot. So Lucas took things one step further and hit three straight, while in a knee brace.

I think Indiana should've kept Kizer.

Congrats to Tully, and I commend her for remaining in the Indy area after her playing days.

But I am not sure exactly what a "player development coach" does, as opposed to the Fever's assistant coaches.

I'm guessing strength and conditioning has something to do with it

January/Wheeler
Johnson/Mitchell/Lucas
Coleman/McCall
Dupree/Peters/Colhado
Larkins/Achonwa

Gone:
Fitzgerald
Graves
Macaulay
McKinney
Motley
Pohlen-Mavunga
RWilliams

Maybe I'm being unrealistic, but I think it's time to move on from the Pohlen-Mavunga era. Myrtle will probably pull her hair out to see McCall slotted as a SF, but she seems more nimble than say Peters, who was an experimental SF at MIN

It pains me to see Fitzgerald on the gone list, so how about this alternative?

January/Wheeler/Fitzgerald
Johnson/Mitchell
Coleman/Lucas
Dupree/Peters/McCall
Larkins/Achonwa

Gone:
Colhado
Graves
Macaulay
McKinney
Motley
Pohlen-Mavunga
RWilliams

I like keeping Lucas because she seems to be putting in the work this off-season

MoMo can also play some SF so I think they will have options. McCall at SF is a bit like having a T.Young there...and you know how I feel about that. But hey, T. Young has not only stuck but been a starter for all these years. And Indy now has the same coach that did that so maybe she thinks it's a good idea.

I was thinking an improved (hopefully) Colhado or McKinney might stick just to provide more size, but McCall helps with that so maybe with Achonwa that's enough. Fitzgerald is likely a pretty long shot, but who knows. I agree Lucas probably stays and Pohlen-M is likely gone.
