 6   19.0   61.7   64.7
 7   16.3   52.9   55.4
 8   14.3   46.3   48.5

12   9.5   30.8   32.3

We finally have some positive movement on the big milestones. I am not liking the conference opposition for the next three games. Hopefully my other school can keep the game close enough to make her play 40 minuts.

The top 3 now looks like this:

1. Stiles at 3393
2. Griner at 3283
3. Plum at 3280

4 points to elevate Plum to #2

1. Stiles 3393
2. ***PLUM 3315***
3. Griner 3283

Plum needs 79 points to become #1! 2 more regular season games, then PAC 12 tournament. I expect it will happen in the PAC 12 so she can go into the NCAA tournament as #1 among NCAA women. The other totals, I think, are out of reach.

Well, my grad school did make it competitive enough to make her play almost the whole game. The Mountain schools were tough this weekend, so maybe they can force her to shoot a lot next weekend.

It's one time I'll be happy to be wrong. I thought she'd come up just short. Her quest has brought some excitement to the season for me.

She will do it in Seattle, either at the final home game(possible) or the first game of the Pac12 Tournament on Friday March 3rd.

Which actually should have gone to LJ. There's more to basketball than points.

Yes. Stiles had a few more total points, but their points per game were virtually the same--with LJ having the slight edge. Their assists per game were virtually the same, with Stiles having the slight edge. LJ had more rebounds per game, blocks per game, and steals per game. Unfortunately for LJ, Stiles got bonus points for coming into the league as a familiar face after her illustrious college career. But hey, now that the Storm got its back-to-back ROYs, it's all good.

In defense, Stiles shot the ball better 40/43/78, to Jackson's 36/31/73.

Obviously Jackson was a few years younger, but 36% for a forward/post (granted a stretch post), is still bad.

I think Stiles got points for being a more exciting player to watch.

And at that time, a much more well known quantity. Like last year, if another player had numbers similar to Stewie or even slightly better, Stewie still would have been ROY.

1 regular season game and 2-3 PAC 12 tournament games (in Seattle). Odds are excellent Kelsey will become #1 in Seattle during the 1st or 2nd game of the tourney. If Plum hits her average of 30 pts in the final regular season game, the odds go way up, she'll break the record in Washington's first game of the tourney on March 3.

Well, she did it. Not sure anyone was expecting it today but 57 points is certainly a good way to go out on your home court. Shocked

what an awesome performance. to throw out a game like that under what was probably tremendous pressure (especially when Chantel fouled out with 8 minutes left in the game & Utah down by only 6 or 8, I think). Romeo wasn't scoring, so it was up to Kelsey to carry the team and she did it, again.

if there's any doubt about who's the #1 pick, I don't know what else she'd have to do.

CONGRATS KELSEY!

Comparing the careers of Plum and Stiles I found out that Plum has played in 134 games compared to only 99 for Stiles.

So, should Mark Emmert take a page from Ford Frick and put an asterisk next to Plum's name in the event she breaks the record?

Perhaps there should be another record for pts per game...
or perhaps there should be an asterisk by Stiles for playing in a non-major conference...
there could be numerous asterix if you change the rules in the middle...

I know you're not being serious, but my serious response would be, "And that is why scoring average is also a category that is tracked."

I'm seeing 129 games for Stiles:
