No its not irrelevant. Im not saying that with Toliver gone and Gray being the starting PG that it will work out perfectly. I think there will be a big dropoff for the Sparks with Toliver gone. She is still in a learning stage. PG's often need atleast 3 years in the league to adjust. But the difference is that the Sparks dont have another option then Gray starting and playing heavy minutes at the PG position (with Toliver gone). While the Sky have Dolson as a solid player that can step in at that center position whenever Boyette isnt performing.

Fair enough. However,I still don't think it's a smart move to pay Dolson max money when you can use her as leverage to acquire a player to fill a position of need.Breland,Parker and Dos Santos can fill the role of backup center. The sky have too many duplicates. If this keeps up,Chicago will have 3 max contract players playing limited minutes(Dolson,Faulkner,Quigley) and still have a huge hole at the SF position.

Next season Dolson is a RFA not an UFA.

Yes.Chicago will be forced to match a max contract

They would have lost EDD for nothing.

Thibault said he wasn't trading Meesseman. That's why they got Dolson & Copper.

Why has this turned into a CHI thread? This is where people look for free agent info.

I guess Xargay isn't coming over this season. Solid PGs I. Phoenix now with Robinson & Mitchell.

Or after Eurobasket. Xargay can also backup Taurasi at the SG position

* With De Souza, Harrison and Alexander, I doubt they'd sign Baugh.
* If Rachel Jarry is in talks to come back to the Lynx, I would think Hampton's job is in jeopardy.
* Marta Xargay and Astou Ndour are said to be missing the first part of the year with Spain commitments. I'd assume then that Anna Cruz would as well. And I would not be surprised if that is true of Gruda, Petrovic and Dabovic as well as I think each of their teams made Eurobasket.

Also I might have missed it but I don't think Cored D. Bonner has signed yet either.

No I saw your list, but based on Toads list I thought she may have been signed.

Bonner still floating out there is very interesting, so if she is still not signed there may be some intrigue there. So looking at Toad's lis i thought maybe she was signed and I missed it. Is it possible she is waiting for some insurance that Dupree will not be traded? Does she also want to be traded if Dupree is traded? Or is that not a factor at all and PX is just taking their time considering they have 2 high profile and 1 kind of high profile player who have not put pen to contract.

PHX have signed their table scraps, and haven't signed their 5 most important unsigned players, Griner, Bonner, Bone, Petrovic, and Xargay. Probably can't make too much of it.

I'd like to know why PHX would trade Dupree when she's been getting her chemistry on with two fellow Merc players?

First I've seen this type of transaction. Why not just waive her or trade her for something?

It basically is being waived, just the equivalent for when you hold someone's rights but they aren't under contract. Credit to the Lynx for not screwing around trying to get some nominal pick for her from somebody. Now she can hopefully find a better fit somewhere else.

She wants to sign somewhere else, but she's got no trade value. The Lynx don't want or need her, so they did her a favor.

There are definitely teams/GMs who'd hold out for something, even if it was a draft pick that'd likely last 3 days in Lynx camp. Or they'd wait until the last minute before camp in the hope that they'd get something, making it more difficult to do the deal elsewhere.

Certain teams have a bit more decency around these sorts of moves.

Jarry going to the Dream. Good move for them IMO. She can provide some outside shooting for them

I like these recent picks ups. Hawkins back with the Mystics, D. Adams in Connecticut & now Jarry to Atlanta.
