Meanwhile, in New Rochelle, Duquesne showed their second half mettle again in a 61-58 win over Iona- though Iona showed their toughness in the fourth quarter as well. The Dukes got big games from Kadri-Ann Lass (17 points, 10 in the fourth) and Amadea Szamosi (15 rebounds).

The Western Illinois-Norther Illinois game is entertaining. Obviously a good rivalry.

edit: for all who care, WIU held on for the win in a barnburner. Unlike too many majors, these teams both made big FTs down the stretch.

Final UNLV 77-66 over the WOT.

UNLV out rebounds USC- 46-31. A lot of players looking to the skies and not boxing out.

UNLV was hot from outside the arc hitting 11 for 19(58%)

Both teams turned the ball over 21 times.

Really tough year start of the season for Purdue. Maybe this will be enough to get the University to relieve Versyp of her duties.

One year too late for Steph White? Purdue alum but she just got there and Vandy probably has better talent right now plus a better recruiting class. Would be a longer rebuild at Purdue?

http://www.utrockets.com/news/2016/11/19/womens-basketball-toledo-runs-away-from-cleveland-state-92-59.aspx?path=wbball

From 11/19. Toledo blew out Cleveland St., which they should have.If had made more foul shots, their score would have been much higher. 5 players in double figures, 2 others w/9pts. Bravo-Harriet & Monakana, the English imports, continue to lead both offense/defense, along w/soph.ptg M.Boyd who has really developed, posting her first double double.

Looking forward to see how they play against real competition when play UCLA in Cancun later in week.

Tuned in late to this afternoon's Vanderbilt-Robert Morris game.

It was in the 4th Q and the Vandy announcers said Vanderbilt has done enough good things today to have this lead, but not enough to put this game away.

Final Vandy 75, Robert Morris 59.

Decent crowd of 4,222, which the announcers described as "the vast majority of those of the school aged".

Ugly, ugly ugly.

Arizona lost this afternoon, at home, to previously 0-3 North Texas, 62-58.

The combined records of North Texas's other opponents is 4-7. That certainly won't help the conference rpi.

Meanwhile, in Champaign, Illinois, the Mercer Bears defeat Illinois 51-33 behind 17 points from Kahlia Lawrence. The Illini had 21 turnovers and only 13 made FG.

This was Mercer's first win over a B10 team since a 91-90 victory over Indiana in 1976.

Sounds like the battle in the B1G will be for the basement, between Purdue and Illinois. They are both awful.

Never underestimate Northwestern's ability to tank once BIG play begins

only if Coffey's injury (?) lingers. Otherwise NW is clearly a step up from Purdue and Illinois. It will be hard for Illinois to win a game in the B1G. Of course Nebraska is also right down there with this group. So yeah, a battle for the basement may be in the works.
