In non-Olympic years, the season typically starts by Memorial Day weekend.

Please tell me that will give the league enough time to have multiple game series for the entire playoffs. I do not like this 1 and done crap.

Of the four single-elimination games, one drew fewer than 3,000 fans and another drew fewer than 4,000.

The early-round games are money-losers and simply bad business for owners who are barely making a profit, if not losing money. Chicago had a week to promote a weekend game and could only get 2,500 or so warm bodies to show up (announced attendance was of course much higher).

If more people came to the games, and more people watched, there would be justification for longer series.
