I believe the score was 48-46. It's now 106-64.

Hope SB is ok. Didn't look good though.

Yeah, hoping it's more that she is nervous rather than she knows something.

An Olympic-worthy flop.

On another note, Angel McCoughtry is really really good.

Agreed, much to my surprise, looks like Geno has her under control. Whalen has not been very good, missed a lot of open people. Good job they have Taurasi as she can play the point much better anyways.

If you've been hurt often enough, you have a pretty good idea as soon as you feel the pain ...

I speak from experience on this, unfortunately.

Worse perimeter defender: Diana Taurasi, or a cardboard cutout of Shoni Schimmel?

Looking at the 2nd - 4th picks:

*Delle Donne (Griner #1)
*Fowles (Parker #1)
*Catchings (could not play year 1 due to injury - Kelly Miller picked #2 - a Trudy Lacey blunder?)
*Whalen (Taurasi #1, Beard #2, Nicole Powell #3 - Mike Thibault considered himself the luckiest coach around that Whalen was there at #4).

Just saw this about Sue:

I was worried too when I saw her looking pretty emotional on the bench. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Btw, is it true that she's had 5 knee surgeries? I'm not sure how much I can trust the announcing crew....

Trudi Lacey was not in charge in Charlotte then. Anne Donovan took Cryin' Kelly over Catchings.

I'm not sure of the exact number, but that sounds about right. Apart from the ACL tear in college, approximately every three years she has arthroscopic surgery to clear out scar tissue, etc. that starts to impede function too much. It's a relatively quick recovery (though it's never insignificant to have surgery). One year she did it over All Star break and I think only missed one game. Other years she's done it at the start of the off-season (possible due to usually not reporting to Russia until January).
