The Cavs were in control the 1st half. Then Steph Curry showed up big time in the second half & the Warriors took control. I think they close it out on Monday in Oakland.

Even as someone supporting the Warriors, this has been a really disappointing finals series IMO.

LeBron James is a coward. He's as passive-aggressive as they come. He couldn't beat him, so try to get the competition suspended. If you step over me with your nutsack hanging on me, I'm damn sure not going to just lay there. Then, to go on a tirade after the game (off-camera) that Draymond called him a "bitch." You've been in the league how long? I can't believe you haven't been called worse. Well, that's what you are.
I hope those in attendance at Oracle make sure he hears that word in unison on Monday night. Let them get smacked around by 30 points and leave with no pride.

I believe that ive read somewhere that Green would have been suspended anyway for game 5 because this scrap with Lebron would normally be called a double technical foul. And I think another T would have meant a suspension for Green.
Im not a Lebron fan but I hate people defending Green. His antics with kicking multiple people (Adams, Kyrie Irving, Westbrook) in his flopping ways has to stop. I have never seen anyone take flopping to the extreme like him and get away with it. He had this suspension coming. Karma is a bitch

Might be the best thing for GS to have him sit out. Their bench is pretty deep. I really can't see Clev doing to the Warriors what GS did to OKC being down 3-1. Might be wrong, but don't think so.

Would bet my right arm if this series was even at 2-2 Draymond wouldn't be suspended for GM5. What happened in OKC was way worse..

The NBA rulebook says 7 techs needed before suspension so a ruling of a double technical would have permitted Green to play tonight because he had 5 beforehand.
The refs let the game out of hand. I think they will call it tight initially tonight._________________

The first quarter of Game 5 took 45 minutes. The game might end by dawn at this rate.

LeBron James was wise to get Draymond Green suspended, but now what?
Quote: |
If there was anything that shone through in the first four games of the series, it was that James did need to carry the team, and was not doing a very good job of it. Green was a major factor in that, and James was granted a Game 5 reprieve of his own making.
The suspension is up, now. We’re on to Game 6 and for James, here comes the tricky part. He will have to figure out how the one thing that has perplexed him all series — how to play the way he did with Green off the floor while Green is back on the floor. |

Tim Donaghy: NBA suspended Green to extend Finals
Quote: |
“I think when you look at the overt acts that Green has committed before, they were definitely more severe than this act, and yet he’s gonna end up with a flagrant foul and suspension because of it,” Donaghy said. “In the past, I believe it was disregarded because [the Warriors] were down in the series. Here, they’re up in the series, so I think it’s a situation where, with that, it gives Cleveland a better chance of prolonging the series.”
Donaghy believes the league favors teams that are down in a series as a general rule.
“Definitely indirectly with the tape sessions that took place and how they would show you plays that they wanted you to concentrate on in the game,” Donaghy said of how the league allegedly influenced referees to officiate games a certain way. “It was always a situation where the team down in the series was going to benefit from those calls.” |

Steve Kerr on loss without Draymond Green: 'We had to play better, and we didn't'
Quote: |
But they refused to use his absence as a cop-out.
"Draymond does a little bit of everything," said Klay Thompson, whose 37 points weren't enough with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving each going off for 41. "Obviously his playmaking, his communication, and his heart and soul. It's not an excuse, though."
Green was suspended after the NBA retroactively charged him with a flagrant foul 1 for striking James in the groin during Game 4. The foul triggered an automatic suspension and left the Warriors and their fans fuming.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr said "it's too simple to say that" the Warriors lost because of Green's absence.
"We weren't very good defensively," Kerr said. "We knew we were without Draymond, so there's no point in harping on that. We had to play better, and we didn't." |
