Carver County sheriff press conference-
No physical trauma.
Autopsy completed and body released to family.
Autopsy results may take a few weeks.
No reason to believe it was a suicide.

It's too early for them to give any other info.

Prince. RIP. I'll never forget the explosion in the locker room when we found out he was performing for us after game 5 last season

I will always be grateful for his generosity that evening to perform for us. It was truly amazing. #minnesotasown

The story behind Prince's private party for Minnesota's WNBA team

Renee Montgomery wrote:
I think he gave us one of the best things ever which was memories and he made us feel important, she said. This is kind of a story that you will hear that will happen with an NBA team. A lot of celebrities and artists are fans of NBA players so something like that is common for them...But that kind of stuff that happens to NBA players. But for somebody of that magnitude to make us feel appreciated, I mean he gave us memories of a lifetime.

I never cared for or even paid much attention to Prince or his music, so I have no emotional investment. However, this sounds like a drug death, and as one who volunteers a lot of time to the addiction field, I am so sorry if drugs have cut down yet another person.

Frank Ocean On Prince: He Made Me Feel More Comfortable With How I Identify Sexually

Quote:
"i'm not even gonna say rest in peace because it's bigger than death. i never met the man (i was too nervous the one time i saw him) and i never saw him play live, regrettably," he started his letter. "i only know the legends Ive heard from folks and what i've heard and seen from his deep catalog of propellant, fearless, virtuosic work."

Quote:
"he was a straight black man who played his first televised set in bikini bottoms and knee high heeled boots, epic," the singer wrote. "he made me feel more comfortable with how i identify sexually simply by his display of freedom from and irreverence for obviously archaic ideas like gender conformity etc."

Short read. But just an extraordinarily powerful piece of writing. This is a classic.

Prince Was the Patron Saint of Black Weirdos

This is the article those charts are from. They are using the term "pop musician" very broadly as they include all modern genres in another chart:

Here's an article from 3 YEARS ago that I think is helping put the pieces together.

Why did Prince have a cane? Did someone swear on air? Grammy questions answered

http://www.today.com/news/why-did-prince-have-cane-did-someone-swear-air-grammy-1B8325419

Quote:
What was with Prince's cane?

His Royal Badness stunned the audience when he strolled out to present the record of the year award to Gotye and Kimbra for "Somebody That I Used to Know" (and thrilled the singers when he casually announced, "I love this song"). But what was with the stylish cane he was toting? The reclusive musician won't say, but we know this: Prince has suffered hip problems for years and reportedly needs a double hip replacement (some say he's already had surgery on his hip in the past). As Prince is a Jehovah's Witness, blood transfusions are against his beliefs, but it is possible to perform such an operation using other procedures. Still, as the London Guardian pointed out back in 2009, canes have been a part of Prince's style closet since the 1990s -- this is not a new look. He sure didn't need it to walk, as was evident from his cool onstage strut.

PRIVATE MEMORIAL AT PAISLEY PARK

Quote:
It appears Prince will be remembered in a private service at his Paisley Park home ... and staff members are currently unloading items for the memorial.

You can see from the pics ... several bouquets of flowers, catered food and tables have been taken inside. It's unknown exactly what will go down in Paisley Park, but we've been told the family's been planning something intimate.

Prince's body was released Friday to his relatives after an autopsy was completed, multiple reports say he was cremated.

Prince: Friends Fear For Heartbroken Ex Apollonia Who Is Unreachable After His Death

Quote:
Sheila E. flew to Minnesota immediately after finding out about Princes death, but another one of his exes Apollonia hasnt been reachable, and friends are really worried about her. Apollonia has been very quiet since the icons death, so those close to her are fearing the worst.

Everyone is mourning the tragic death of Prince, following his untimely passing on April 21, but not everyone is handling the news very well. One of the icons exes, Apollonia Kotero, hasnt been reachable since she learned the news. And now, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned, her friends are really worried.

Close friends of Apollonia have not been able to reach her and are beginning to worry. Apollonia has been very quiet and those close to her have been unable to reach her to console her. It is a terrible situation, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

This is so sad. As we previously learned, Apollonia was calling him a lot, checking in with him just last week. She was really worried about him since his plane made the emergency landing last week. She was still very close to Prince.

He was really feeling himself, going after Janet and Prince in that song. One who is incomparable, and another who took him under her wing and showed him (along with the other N'Sync members) how to be a consummate performer.

Sometimes I wish life was never ending,
