Yep. It's an *intelligence* thing. You wouldn't get it.

Actually I do get it but that doesn't mean it's still not a boring show with an awful personality-less host.

Trebek's problem is not that he doesn't have a personality, his problem is that he has a smug, condescending, very slightly sexist personality.

Boring is, of course, a matter of opinion. I rather enjoy it, myself. Very Happy

Haha, right? Totally. Also why it's so fun to send him up on SNL.

George has a lame sense of humor, imo.

anyway, a very underwhelming performance by tonight's trio.

Queenie, I'm curious as to what part of your experience this was based on. We peons who can only know him through the screen see a genteel, refined, articulate gentleman. Was there some specific part of "behind-the-scenes" that he presented a different character?

My husband was on "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?" many years ago, in the Meredith V-Era, and though his time with her was limited, he said that she's every bit as sweet off the screen as she was on screen. But....not all game hosts are created equally.

I was a little surprised none of them got the final right. It wasn't that hard.

did anyone catch Queenie's appearance on the early showing of Jeopardy yesterday? it was a rerun of the 2014 Tournament of Champions.

btw, congrats on paying off all your student loans, Queenie!

Looks like they watched the movie rather than read the book...

A colleague of mine used to teach both The Three Musketeers and The Vicomte of Bragelonne. He said that when they got to "The Man in the Iron Mask", some of the student's answers were hilarious.

Nope. It hurt my ears. My wife, who wasn't even watching, started to mimic her from the other room. We spent all night talking like that.

Though I found you get punched if you do it during those intimate moments... Laughing

I've heard it before. It's apparently peculiar to North Georgia.

Susan, the current champion, is my heroine. Both yesterday and today she led going into Final J, and wagered such that had the 2nd place contestant bet it all and answered correctly, they would have tied her.

Beautiful!

She is THE coolest contestant I've seen.
