Serena is attempting to wrap up grand slam title #21. Is there anyone left to provide a serious challenge?
Serena appear to have both Victoria's and Maria's respective numbers. Young Madison Keys, despite her enormous potential, does not appear to be quite ready yet. Young Garbine Muguruza, another favorite, has been too inconsistent with her play thus far. Agneszka' greatest weapon is her tennis mind, but she has no real power to challenge the top players. Coco isn't there as yet either, despite the upset of Czech Lucie Safarova. Swiss Miss Timea Basinszky had her 15-match romp ended by Serena at Indian Wells earlier this year.
We know Vika can threaten Serena. However, the serving display Serena unleashed against her older sister Venus in the last round suggests that the younger Williams sister is priming the greatest hitting weapon in women's tennis history at the right time.
