Laimbeer, also a Notre Dame graduate, said he sees a few qualities in Ivey that the Shock lacked at times during the 2004 season.

"She's been in the league for four years," Laimbeer said. "She understands the league and doesn't make a lot of mistakes. She has a good three-ball, so people won't be able to play zone against us when she's out there."

Laimbeer said he will slide second-year guard Chandi Jones to the shooting guard position full-time. He might try to add another point guard in Saturday's draft to back up starter Elaine Powell.

So glad that BL is going to let Chandi play her natural position this year and not try to make her a point guard...that was just disasterous last year.

She's a beaut and sounds like she had a good run overseas this year, too. But regarding the question, probably the three. I think she had ice water in her veins last year as a rookie; she didn't seem to back off taking a shot if she was open. With extended minutes, it will be interesting to see if she spells the four for the Shock this season.
