How did Foley look in the game?
A little on the whiney side. Wasn't her best game.
Adelaide have really got some talent this season but they did not play to their ability in that game. (not that the first week of the season is noted for players being their sharpest or team pkochemistry being at peak levels)
Well we put things straight at thursdays game v dandy |

I dont know if this was mentioned elsewhere on the forum. FIBA changed the shot clock rules for 2014/15. Its still a 24 second clock, but if the team on offense gets the rebound the clock resets to 14 seconds instead of the full 24 seconds. It certainly speeds up the possessions.
FIBA Rule changes listed here.

Rangers getting carved up by Bendigo, then crushed against Canberra. Lack of size inside is showing itself.
Hopefully PFT's addition can turn things around.

What happened to Lauren Scherf? She's not in the last two boxscores. Scherf was the only player with legit size. Not that she was playing that well, but at least she could grab some rebounds.
Penny will help the scoring and maybe the rebounding. However, in the one game I saw, Dandenong's interior defense looked like Swiss Cheese.

Happy to see the number of games on youtube as well as to see that Cappie looks like she is playing more like Cappie.
Hoping that time off up to now did her some good and that the time off AFTER the season will do her some good as far as the WNBA goes next year. She shot something like 7 percent from 3 point range over a good chunk of games extending to the end of the season.

Lauren has missed the last couple of games as it's the end of the school year and she has been sitting her final year 12 exams._________________ Hoop Shots: basketball photos from the Australian WNBL |

Lindsey Moore's game-winner was the WNBL's "Play of the Day" this week

(I guess "Play of the Week" doesn't sound so catchy?)
[ETA] A collection of clips from the game here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wol4iCP3HQ

From memory she had a couple of big defensive plays right before hitting the game winner. Great to see the Waves having some success this season.

Yeah, I don't know what to make of this. Obviously her confidence is up in AUS similar to Liston in ITA. She feels confident enough to take the game winning shot.... not that it was such an amazing shot.
"You don't expect to see (a behind the back pass) in the women's game."
This is why I tell Jet that Sammy Prahalis should play in AUS. She would be worshipped and probably nationalized over there. Easy competition and helps with confidence, although being in Russia probably helps develop her actual game for the WNBA level.
Did the Lynx make a mistake by cutting LMoore? Short term, probably. I don't see McKenith as anything more than a dart throw that missed the board. The Lynx shouldn't have panicked and kept the team unified last year. You kinda lose that sense of family when you cut a player mid-season.

This league values teamwork and fundamentals. L-Mo is doing nicely here in Perth. Sammy might get the occasional highlight play but I suspect she would also find herself coming off the bench if her vision remained anything like it was in Phoenix. I could maybe see Dandenong throwing some big money at her to come in and contribute zero to their team chemistry like so may other overpaid players have done in recent years.

Shades, have you ever seen a WNBL game? If not, then everything Luuuc said x2. Also, you should take most of Sporn's comments with a grain of salt. Great player, but not a polished broadcaster.

She sure did! I've got photos of both of L-Mo's stops in my West Coast Waves v Canberra Capitals photo gallery._________________ Hoop Shots: basketball photos from the Australian WNBL |

I deleted most of my comment. But I'll just say this comment is so ludicrous and untrue on so many levels I don't even know where to start. Just ridiculous.
