Great speech. Kind of like a less emotional and funnier version of KD's speech. It gave me goosebumps.

Even as a non-Mercury fan, that was pretty cool. Not that I want her to stop playing any time soon, but Taurasi's going to be a lot of fun in her post-playing career (assuming she sticks around the game, which seems likely for such a basketball junkie). Broadcasting or coaching, she could be very entertaining in either role.

You know if fate had decreed she be a Mystic I feel pretty confident that the Mystics would have championships. It was just a stroke of luck she landed in Phoenix and certainly us Phoenicians know it. It really drove the point home. I don't think she meant any disrespect to the Mystics she could have said the the Storm or the Suns and got the same point across.

I also think it goes within the theme of what she was saying.

After being introduced as the best women's basketball player of all time. Diana gave a speech that gave credit to every single individual on the team and in the organization (except for BG Laughing ) except herself.

Her comment of, "I could have been a Mystic" what she's saying is she wouldn't be where she is right now without being a Mercury player.

When we all know, that if Taurasi had been a Mystics player, the Mystics and Mercury fortunes would likely be reversed.

I think Taurasi's competitiveness causes misunderstanding of her. She is an outstanding leader. It is why I would make her the MVP for the season.

I am hoping that Taurasi and EDD play together on the USA team. If there is one thing I would like to see rub off on EDD is Taurasi's passion. Not that EDD doesn't have passion to win but I would like to see her show it outwardly. EDD's defense is void of this kind of passion. I believe her defense would improve if she would stand under the basket and let the opposition know nobody is going to score on her.
