Four

Augustus 32 on 18 June 2006
Parker 34 on 17 May 2008
Parker 31 on 6 July 2008
Wright 32 on 1 June 2010

The Merc are the only team to have more than two of these games against them. New York, San Antonio, Sacramento, and Seattle each have two. The Shock have one each in Detroit and Tulsa. Atlanta, Houston, Indiana, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Orlando, and Portland have one each. All other teams have none.

Diana didn't have Cappie in her rookie season to take the defensive pressure off of her.

It was also under a 30 second shot clock with an offensively challenged coach.

Who did Seimone have to take defensive pressure off her, Nicole Ohlde? Razz

IIRC, Parker's 34-point game (against Phoenix) on May 2008 was her debut game, and the WNBA's season-opening game. I'll have to check my video collection if I taped that game. I think it was shown on ABC-TV.

Candace would have had 42 points in that debut game if she had only hit all 16 of her FT's---she missed half of them. She is such a mismatch nightmare.

Just look at how many more names there are for the last 5 years vs. the 5 years before that.

I wonder if that 2006 record of nine 30+ rookie point games will ever be topped(and it was only Augustus & Pondexter).

these numbers just reminded me of how bad the 2007 draft was. Only 8 players remain in the league from that draft: Harding, Price, Quinn, Jackson-Jones, Latta, Gruda, Murphy, Little. Is Little the best player to come out of that draft??

I think I would take Latta over her (it would be a tough call), but yes Camille is as durable as they come. Tonight's game is only the 2nd she's missed since 2009.

It's easy to forget how really amazing Seimone was coming in. She didn't have much help at all and just did it by herself. She was all we had to cheer about for so many years.

McBride is now only the fifth with multiple 30+ games. Not bad to be a in a group with Catchings, Parker, Augustus, and Pondexter.
