Well, well, well. Definitely not surprised this is now nail biting time in the playoffs for us Clipper fans… well, except for the 'now' part. Love that Doc Rivers came to the Clips but this team has not passed the eye-test of this long-time Clippers fan all season. I do think they'll bounce back in this series and move on but there's certainly no guarantee that will happen.
So many of the components have improved so dramatically this season, team numbers are incredible, points scored, fast break points, perimeter defense, etc. DJ. Blake's all around game. All that stuff is great and that's why the team won a couple more games this year than last year's previous record season for wins. But I'd take last season's team in many many ways over this year's Clippers. You know those strides combined with a team that is as cohesive and all out hustle … yeah… we'd have a championship level ball club. I just don't see it this year and I've been predicting rough days ahead in the playoffs the entire second half of the season.
I don't know if anyone noticed what a force Big Baby was in game one. Pregame showed him LEADING the pre game all hands huddle. Seriously? This is HIS job now? Emotional leader of the Los Angeles Clippers. He played like a man on fire Saturday. Why aren't our guys as fired up as a guy who just came aboard?
