...looks like the move was made to possibly get Tye'sha Fluker. Word is Lin Dunn has been super impressed with Tye. Source is very reliable.

This also explains why Indiana wanted something in return for Schumacher that didn't involve matching New York's offer. If you are going to lose a post player, be sure you are getting one to replace her. Indiana apparently feels Fluker will be Schumacher's replacement. Problem is, Fluker may also have to be Nat Williams' replacement, unless Ebony Hoffman is up to the task.

They were worried that either Charlotte or Seattle might take her?

I think it's more likely a salary dump...

So how do you guys think Fluker will do there? Will she be up to the task quickly or not so much? I've seen some of the Fluker posts before, just curious how you think she will work in this particular situation.

long time lurker, first time poster

I don't want to start over with an unproven rookie post, especially when our only other options are an aging Olympia and Hoffman, who just isn't going to be competitive. Ebony's a nice person and very outgoing at all the team functions we've ever been to but that was one of the most wasted draft picks we've ever made (not as bad as McDonald since Ebony has actually played). She can't jump, doesn't have the quickness (maybe due to conditioning, which is another problem) and her best skill is that she is very good at catching and hanging onto the ball. We could have had Brunson or Christi Thomas. What was management thinking??

I think we should spend the money to go get Riley. She can play significant minutes and already knows the Eastern conference game.

No Nat Williams. No Deanna Jackson. Hoffman, Paige, Tan...all in the rookie system under the CBA. And it wasn't as if DeForge was signed for the max, because she wasn't.

It would make sense to dump the salary if Indiana was set in the post. But that is the one place where Indiana has the most uncertainty.

spending money to get riley will not get it done.

3 years at the max will not do it. it will take more than this to get riley.

Exchanging Williams, Jackson and Miller for DeForge, Scott and Smith increases the Fever's payroll...

Thanks, gownbago. Forgot about Olympia Scott and Charlotte Smith. Still, neither one of those two players is 6-4/6-5.

Now that the Liberty have Schumacher & Farris, I don't expect them to draft a post but likely a SG - possibly Willis or maybe Baker.

Hell no!, we won't go for a veteran player like Riley.......We will go for another project player like Hoffman who has been NOTHING MORE THAN A BIG FLUK----ER!

Throw the money out there and see if Detroit matches it .

Riley hasn't impressed me for the last two seasons. I'd rather just give Ebony more minutes. (I'd prefer Barb was playing alongside her, but it's too late for that.)

That's because BL has taken her game away from her, so Hoffman has impressed you? 2years in the WNBA (04 mpg 11.1 ppg 2.0 ---05 mpg 15.1 ppg 3.6) She was a project that has nor will never pan out and lucky if any other team would have her !!!!! mpg-minutes per game , ppg-points per game.
