Virginie Razzano of France stunned two-time Grand Slam champion Svetlana Kuznetsova with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the first round of the Southern California Open on Monday.

Razzano, who needed a wild card to gain entry to the main draw, is ranked No. 131 in the world. Kuznetsova, who won the 2004 U.S. Open and the 2009 French Open, is 29th.
