Md 65, NC State 57

It was Senior Night and Hoops for Hope at NC State, and the Wolfpack played with a great deal of heart and emotion. If it weren't for their poor shooting (33%), they might have pulled it out, as Maryland, which had flashes of brilliance, also had a lot of sloppy play, including something like 11 TOs in the first half.

But when Harp and Lang got clicking inside, there was no stopping them. And add a double/double from Coleman, nice shooting by Toliver, and 9 assists from Doron, and that was the game.

Good effort particularly by Whittington for NC State.

ok ESPN put up the boxscore. I see Shay had an off game but the question remains about those 9 assists.. I can't remember if she ever had 10

It should be a record-setting day on Thursday. Shay needs 1 free throw to break the school record and Lang needs 6 points for 1,000

BTW, Shay had 10 assists vs Monmouth and 13 assists vs. Arizona.

Event was great, result not so much.

Brenda Frese (and her team) is a class act for raising $ for Hoops for Hope. Maryland should go far (hope we don't meet them down the road Confused ). They were comparable to when we played Duke and UNC.

So many steals/chances, so few baskets. During the first half, I thought Langhorne/Harper looked weak enough that we had a shot. After some 3s (Toliver, etc...?) it seemed like we just deflated, and Harper just ran over us. Toliver and Doron have great communication and timing with their teammates, they're a strong pair.
