Very cool!

Here is another article about the game and protest. It doesn't say much...

http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/sports/colleges/13744354.htm

"Portland booed: Penn State coach Rene Portland was booed loudly by fans during introductions. She is facing a federal lawsuit accusing her of harassing and discriminating against Penn State players she believed to be lesbian."

They also had a story about it on the local news here. You can watch it online at http://wcco.com/sports

Here was the Sunday pre-game story, and it pretty much turned out just as Zgoda laid it out:
http://www.startribune.com/512/story/212002.html

The whole thing really started on the Gopher bulletin board in a thread dating back to December about the OTL story:

http://mnwomensbb.shortstreet.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=528

OutFront Minnesota picked up on it and send out an email.

This is a great example of how bulletin boards can unite fans in ways that transcend basketball.

Sue,

I feel the need to point out that your own board and the general level of discourse there was really instrumental in the way things developed in Minnesota. So HUGE KUDOS to you for facilitating discussion and providing the forum.

Thank you, Curious and Accom Very Happy I'm just glad things turned out well, and, especially, that we won the game!

Big Kudos back to the Curiouses for coming through as great hosts for the weekend!

Kudos for Sue and Curious, if it wasn't for them and good people of MN, I would have never made it up for the game. I have found some great friends in MN and around the country and I look forward in continuing this friendships for a very long time. Thank You all.
