Anyone see it? I'm curious. Nova aren't having their best year, but that score looked surprisingly close.

From recap:

Quote:
Pondexter, the nation's second-leading scorer at 22.1 points per game, is battling a stomach virus. She was held to nine points, going 2-for-12 from the field, to end her streak of double-figure games at 28.

"I told Cappie she had to play through it," Rutgers coach C. Vivian Stringer said. "Villanova is not a team you want to have to play any time, especially not when your leader is sick. But we got other kids to step up and give us some good contributions."

So goes Cappie, so goes Rutgers...

More important than the shooting performance was her overall stat line. She added 5 boards, 4 assists, 1 blk and 0 TO's.
THE GIRL IS SICK!!! Very Happy

As it turns out, in this case, Cappie, Michelle Campbell, Mariota Theodoris and Sammeika Thrash were sick, and Rutgers still won.

Not to say that Cappie isn't key to this team's success against the best, but keep in mind that Carson and Ajavon both were HS AAs and both have played for the junior national team. They ain't chopped liver, and they obviously were enough against Villanova, along with Cappie's contribution in her weakened state.
