I have never considered saying a prayer for LSU, but if it will counter all those Falwell prayers, I'll do it!

I will be rooting hard for the Flames. I mean, it's not like I am going to stop rooting for St. Francis (Pa.) because o the Vatican's positions on LGBT issues.

Yeah, but is the Pope taking credit for the succes St. Francis enjoys? Is he saying that their success is part of God's divine plan? There is at least some rational place where we can separate St. Francis (and most other Catholic schools) from the dogma. With Falwell on the Liberty bandwagon, it's impossible to separate the Flames from the misbegotten doctrine of their school's founder. As long as Falwell takes credit for, and derives encouragement from, the success of the basketball team, well, let's just say I'm a fan of LSU this weekend.
