Well, you registered in 2006. So, you have no clue whatsoever. I thought pilight is one of Staley's supporters (when she was still playing the in the WNBA).

I'm anti-Whalen? Well, I don't think Whalen should be our coach in 2016 either, if that's what you mean.

Has Mulkey done much with USA Basketball? How about McGraw?

It's very important, I think, to have significant international coaching experience to be named to the position. (I don't know if Auriemma did, but he's the best coach in the game, so he would have gotten a pass from me.)

Mulkey hasn't done any coaching with USA Basketball. McGraw's only experience was as an assistant at the 1993 US Olympic Festival.

Why not C Vivian Stringer? She's been a Team USA assistant before and is much more proven than Staley.

CVS hasn't had relatively much success as a head coach for USA Basketball. Under her the U.S. won silver at the 1985 World University Games, bronze at the 1991 Pan American Games, and finished fourth at the 1989 World Championship Qualifying Tournament.

Staley, by the way, is the only head coach since 1987 to lead the U.S. to gold at the Pan Am Games.

Given the various levels of experience, and USA Basketball's past practices, I'd say Staley is a lock.

This morning Geno was asked his level of interest in coming back.

His answer "ZERO"

He said there are plenty of others who can coach the team, besides, they win for anyone, it wasn't anything he did.

I will be surprised if they don't go back to a WNBA coach next time, assuming there is a league.

I would go Reeve, but part of me doesn't like the idea of a WNBA coach due to their summer commitments. But I also don't like the idea of a college coach having to sacrifice their commitments to their school either.

So if you're thinking no WNBA and no NCAA, that leaves you with Van Chancellor and Pat Summit. Point being, those aren't options.

I am back to Reeve.

Think outside the box. How about someone from overseas. Preferably someone with WNBA head coaching experience.
May I suggest Carrie Graf?

Thank you for your generosity. Your suggestion would require a replacement Opals head coach. How about someone from overseas. Preferably someone with WNBA head coaching experience.

May I suggest Trudi Lacey?

Nancy Lieberman and Cheryl Miller both has had coaching experience, and they should be available by 2016. Wink

Nell Fortner has both and USA experience.
