Thought I'd start the official thread on this one. Its on CSTV tonight for those who can get it.

Really looking forward to this one mostly to see Pondexter & Duffy in the same game. Dosen't matter who wins for me I can just sit back & hopefully enjoy a good gm Mr. Green

For the sake of those of us who get CSTV and yet have tiny children and multiple houseguests, so might not (but might) get to watch the game via TiVo, I hope you'll offer a detailed game report!

I expect Rutgers to win by about 15.

The Irish can't buy a basket! Rutgers really has them rattled.

After falling behind by a 20-1 score, Notre Dame has narrowed the margin to 26-18 at the half. Ajavon has 14 to lead all scorers, while Chandrica Smith's 6 points pace the Irish. I don't have CSTV, so my updates are courtesy of GameTracker.

Notre Dame cut the Rutgers lead to 28-24 early in the second half, but the Scarlet Knights have put this one away by building a 60-30 advantage going into the second-last media timeout.

what is wrong?????? it needs to get fixed... now. Geez, I didn't think we would be great this year, but I didn't think we'd be this bad.

And the men just lost in double OT. ND hoops is rather depressing this year.

Final score 69-43. Matee Ajavon finishes with a game-high 28, while Megan Duffy paces Irish with 10 points. ND hurt by its 22 turnovers and 32% (14-44) FG shooting.

Had the pleasure of attending this game. Did Ajavon miss any 3's in this one?? Rutgers defense was just too much for ND. It was insane, hence the turnovers. At one point Rutgers looked to be playing a bit of a passive zone and after ND crossed half court they attacked and really rattled the ND offense.

This was my first time watching Rutgers this year. Has Cappie lost a lot of weight??? I think I remember her being bigger last year. She was so fast up and down the floor and for almost the entire game, I can understand if she has dropped some weight. Just curious, she looks great. Whoever said you really need to see this team in person was right!

yes, Cappie is much leaner this year. she never quite got in shape last year, after sitting out the first semester.

More likely it means that Notre Dame is really not very good.

Interesting question. I don't know the answer, but here are some numbers that suggest something to me:

Average RU margin over RPI top 50 teams before Temple game: 10.3*
Average RU margin over RPI top 50 teams after Temple game: 25.5

Sure, it's a small sample, and neither Louisville nor Notre Dame is a top-rank team, but eyewitness accounts from both games suggest that the Scarlet Knights found another gear after losing to Temple.

*If you include Temple, it's 8.7.
