Posted: 04/01/12 8:11 am ::: Drafting by schools Trivia Time |

146 schools have had players drafted over the 15 seasons that the WNBA has existed. Of course not everyone who is drafted makes it in the league. About 30% of the players who have been drafted have never gotten on the floor. This leads to three easy-if-you-are-Queenie questions:
1 Name the two schools which have had more than one player drafted yet never had a player play in the league. By way of example; San Jose State has had one player drafted in WNBA history (Lamisha Augustine, the #41 pick of the 2006 draft). Neither she nor any other Spartan has played in a regular season game. You are looking for schools that are like that, but with more than one draftee.
HELPFUL HINT: One of the schools is a major conference school
2 The opposite. Name the three schools which have had multiple players play in the league but never had a player drafted. An example here would be Furman, which has had one player (Rushia Brown) play in the league but has never had a player drafted. You're looking for schools that are like that, but with more than one player.
HELPFUL HINT: One of the schools is a major conference school
3 Every school with more than six draftees has had at least a few not make it. Name the two schools which have had exactly six draftees and had all six appear in the league.
HELPFUL HINT: The two schools are in the same conference

Not a bad guess, but incorrect. Howard has had three players drafted. Two of them, Denique Graves and Andrea Gardner, have made WNBA appearances. Karen Wilkins is the other one.

Pepperdine has had a player drafted: Rasheeda Clark was the #36 pick in 2001. She never made a WNBA appearance, but two others did: Jennifer Lacy and Miranda Ayim. So, this is also an incorrect answer.

Rutgers has had 14 players drafted. Four of them (Rashidat Junaid, Tahsa Pointer, Rebecca Richman, and Shawnetta Stewart) never appeared in a WNBA game

| Don't worry, guys, I'm updating the cheat sheet, and I should have it up in the next couple of days. Apparently my version still thought Colson was with the Sun...

| That was interesting. I didn't realize that Coggins and Koehn were both undrafted out of K-State.
