Wasn't she invited to be a part of the training camp and she turned USA basketball down?_________________ DeLisha Milton-Jones is my favorite player

Could have been. What I heard was that she was not expected to make the team though.

| Frankly, I am tired of these articles/pieces on "The Leslian Lifestyle" being shoved down our throats. I have nothing against Leslie or the Leslians. What they do behind closed doors is their business. But I object to having "The Leslian Lifestyle" thrown in my face. Per my religious beliefs, i do not have to accept it or tolerate it.

So what the heck am I missing?
Did anyone actually READ the article?
It was a nice piece about playing in the 96 Olympics and being a part of that team.
Where's the self-promotion? The world according to Lisa lesbian bashing?
What am I missing?
This all seems really silly to me, including the subject line of the thread._________________ Thursdays starting at 3 ET: Dishin' & Swishin' The World of Womens Hoops Podcast at www.hoopfeed.com & itunes |

I think you're just missing where this thread is something of a joke, or tongue in cheek, despite some of the tiffs that have occurred. For instance, I agree that it's interesting to read perspectives like this article. I really enjoy the personal story type articles. Heaven knows we always get them as Storm fans from LJ's, Sue's, Swin's, and Ashley's perspectives among others. I guess they just haven't made parodies of themselves yet, to the point that they make an amusing target...

Sorry, I guess I just didn't see anything amusing about the things being said in this thread.
Sense of humor on this must have run dry._________________ Thursdays starting at 3 ET: Dishin' & Swishin' The World of Womens Hoops Podcast at www.hoopfeed.com & itunes |

I enjoy Lisa Leslie since she stopped playing. Kind of along the lines of Charles Barkley... but with a ways to go before reaching his level of "WTF did he just say!?"
I think she should continue to be outspoken whenever the mood takes her because WBB needs some of that.

| Leslie was an outstanding player and the Sparks had some great teams. Fans of other teams chose her to beat up on for no particular reason other than the fact that she was so good and outplayed there post players. As for Hammon she was the only one of the three (Hammon ,Nolan, and Miller) that the Russian coach wanted for a point guard. She was not on the final list of 23 US candidates and figured she had no chance with the US team. She was offered a belated tryout and I guess figured that was a waste of time. I remember Nancy Lieberman referred to that 23 player list as that "Stinking List" because Hammon was not on it. I think Nolan and Miller both said they would accept a Russian invitation at that time. Hammon consistently outplayed Bird when SASS played the Storm but since the Storm coach, Ann Donovan, was also the the US team coach it was no surprise that she wanted Bird as her point guard. I think if there had been a different coach Hammon would have made the US team.

No, it is because she couldn't bring class when she spoke even if someone out it in a bucket for her.
