Arkansas 52, Vandy 51--Final in overtime

Amazing--Brittany Vaughn hit a half court shot at the buzzer to send it to overtime. Arkansas came back and hit another three with about 25 second left to tie the game in overtime. Vanderbilt missed their shot, fouled Arkansas, and Howard made 1 of 2 free throws with 2 seconds remaining.

Congrats to Susie Gardner and the team because I really didn't expect this.

Not bad for a coach who lost her top player, Sarah Pfieffer, before the season began. Upcoming immediate schedule looks good for an impressive, unexpectedly good start in conference play, too.

The top player is Kristen Peoples, who also is out of action.

Whatever happened to Ruby Vaden. Big things were expected from her. Injury problems?

Are you sure Cam? Ruby took a medical hardship due to her knee injury and did leave the team; however, Danielle Allen was the one who was pregnant. She's actually back, though. I never knew about Ruby's pregnancy. It never seemed like Vaden and Susie Gardner saw eye to eye. It was certianly a disappointing end for someone with her talent.

Peoples played a little Sunday for the first time since before Christmas break. We really need her to get healthy.

What happened to Peoples? I didn't realize she was hurt, they are doing fabulously to be playing without her and Sarah P.

There's a mention of a "recent kidney injury" towards the bottom of this page.
